Coach Doc Rivers set to make Boston Celtics adjustments for game-7 against Miami Heat – NBA Playoffs Update
Boston Celtics shrewd head coach Doc Rivers has admitted that he will be making some adjustments as his veteran outfit look to win game-7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics are tied at 3 – 3 with the Miami Heat and are headed for a difficult deciding
game at the American Airlines Arena.
Boston went up 3 – 2 with their last win at the American Airlines Arena, silencing the crowd with a gritty, determined display. The Heat though came back with an impressive win at the TD Garden and now the series will be decided back in Miami.
Doc Rivers, who has made most of his resources in the playoffs and kept the Celtics competitive, has another tough task on his hand. The wily coach though isn’t backing down, and says there are many things he has noticed since the Eastern Conference Finals
began that he would be addressing in preparations for game-7.
"Obviously, being Game 7, that means you have six games of some great film to look at," he said. "You can look at all the tweaks and changes that each team has made.”
The coach was though mindful of the fact that in the end it might come down to basics, and just how much effort his wounded group of veterans; Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen can put in.
“But, at the end of the day, you have to go out and perform, you have to make shots, you have to rebound. You have to do all the things that you've probably talked about since Game 1 of the regular season.”
In what is probably the last run of the Celtics Big Three, and star point guard Rajon Rondo, together, the team has put in unbelievably performances to get as far as they have. What stands between them and a historic trip to the NBA Finals now is the Miami
Heat, led by super star LeBron James.
James almost single handedly won game-6 for the Heat with a 45 points performance and Rivers is mindful that a repeat could send his team home.
“Obviously, LeBron had a great game, (but) I thought there were things we should have done better in the game, with the way we were playing them. And we didn't do that. That's the first thing we have to correct.”
