Coach Gary Kubiak hopes high-paced Houston Texans offence stops Peyton Manning – NFL News
The Houston Texans’ punishing running offence might be an answer to Denver Broncos’ four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) quarterback Peyton Manning but coach Gary Kubiak is wary of the veteran’s extraordinary capabilities which can be down on the fact that
Peyton has too many times beaten Gary’s side in the past.
Peyton is former Indianapolis Colts’ most celebrated QB in the American Football Conference (AFC) South division and has often faced the division rivals Texans in the past, coming out as victorious most of the time.
The Texans are current AFC South division title winners which happened in the absence of Peyton from the Colts with a neck injury last season. However, he has now moved to Broncos, facing the Texans for the first time in an out-of-the-conference game and
according to Texans’ coach, he still knows how much the QB is capable of beating his side.
Gary said:
"He's doing all the things he's always done. He's getting them in the right play, getting them in the right thing to do and he's got a new group that he's doing it with, that's what's impressive.”
Apparently, the Texans have been enjoying high-paced offence. They had possession during most part of the last game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars and if they are successful in maintaining the same offence speed against Broncos they might well be able to
counter Peyton.
Although the Texans have one of the strongest defences in the league, the department is yet to click to an optimum level of form and if it fails again it will all depend on the offence to make up for the shortfall.
The Texans are 2-0 atop the AFC South by winning their both games, but now face a real challenge of beating Peyton Manning-led side, and if they are able to do so they will definitely prove credentials for reaching Super Bowl title game.
Star wide receiver Andre Johnson said:
"I can go out and receive for 200 yards. If you don't win, then what does it really matter? Of course, you're going to have people tell you that you did great for their fantasy league. But I can't worry about how much money they win at the end of the season.
My objective is to help this team win Super Bowls."
