Coach Gary Kubiak says Houston Texans target win vs Jacksonville Jaguars with long-term goals in mind
Coach Gary Kubiak said that the Houston Texans will definitely target a comprehensive win over the trouble-hit Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend to help prepare them with long-term goal in mind.
The Texans who had made the playoffs and won the American Football Conference (AFC) South title last season, first time in their franchise history, are Super Bowl contenders this year. They with 8-1 record are eyeing Super Bowl game for sure.
On Sunday (Nov. 18) they will play the Jaguars who have managed only a single win this season so far and according to Kubiak a win will boost their confidence further.
He said:
"The more ways you find to win in this league, you get more confidence. Things like that give you a chance to be a great team. There will be nothing false about what we are when we get there at the end because we've been in some tough situations. And the
more we handle them, the better we get."
The coach added:
"Can you be a good enough football team or a good enough organization to win a championship. I think there are different levels and we're trying to work our way toward that mindset."
Although the wins are essential for any team to keep their performance level high, it appears the Texans have come out on the field with a proper plan and Super Bowl on their mind.
Initially, they were not taken seriously but through their performance they have showed that the last year’s division was not a one-time opportunity that had presented itself to them, they won through hard work and deserved it.
Kubiak and his assistants can certainly take credit given they have worked hard with each player. Their offensive and defensive schemes are unmatchable, especially their trio of quarterback, wide receiver and running back has made their offence unstoppable.
They have been enjoying high-speed offence since beginning and exploited its strength to plot it as the best defensive strategy. Most importantly, it has worked for them very well.
On the way to eight wins they have beaten the sides which are far better and more matured than they are, but the Texans’ self-belief is still unanswerable by any side.
