Coach Gary Kubiak warns Houston Texans be wary of Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck is closer to throw for 4,000 yards in the season, with some aspects of his performance i.e. 18 interceptions, 32 sackings and five lost fumbles, keeping him down in American Football Conference (AFC), yet
Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak has warned the team not to take the man lightly.
The Colts are travelling to Houston this Sunday (Dec. 16) to take on Kubiak’s Texans, but a real fight is seen being pitched between Andrew Luck and Texans’ defensive end J.J. Watt, who says to be hungry for more sacks.
Watt said:
"We need more sacks. I need to rush the passer better. As a defensive line, we need more pressure and we need to bat some more balls. We'll put it on us up front."
Luck being the most vulnerable player in the AFC will face a challenge to get past Watt safely and securely, and if the rookie manages to dodge him successfully, it appears all will be cleared for him.
Despite all the fumbles and interceptions, Texans coach Gary has warned his team not to handle Luck lightly. The coach knows the man and his ability to rip through their defences.
He said:
“It’s got to be a big conscious effort for us to keep him contained, and then when we do have our opportunities you got to really work to bring him down. You can make just an incredible highlight reel of people just hanging on to him and him still making
plays."
The coach being wary of Luck’s size refers him another Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback – and urges his players not to let lose him.
Luck has remained the key player for the Colts. They have extensively relied on him for their victories this season. Now they face another real challenger from AFC South in a pair of their three games left in the season. With a win over the Texans they could
be through to the playoffs.
If the Colts win, the Texans might have to fight them again for the AFC South title. Otherwise, they will get away with the title once again, second time in two seasons.
