Coach Mike Munchak admits Bud Adams not happy over Tennessee Titans run – NFL News
Tennessee Titans' coach Mike Munchak has confirmed the owner Bud Adams' is frustrated over the continued poor run of his team and is mostly likely to be evaluating the team's performance on a regular basis from now on.
Mike said he understands the frustration as he would have done the same if he were at the owner's place, but fell short of divulging a strategy how they will come out of the losing attitudes.
The coach said:
"I would probably have said the same thing if I were him. This is his team. He expects us to play well, especially at home. That's our job. That's my job to make sure we're out there playing our best and winning games at home hopefully every time we line
up. We didn't play well."
He was commenting on the owner's remarks to a local newspaper in which he expressed his sheer disappointment over the way the team played against the Chicago Bears, allowing as many as 51 points in the game.
The owner said:
"In my 50 years of owning an NFL franchise, I am at a loss to recall a regular-season home game that was such a disappointment for myself and fans of the Titans. We were grossly outcoached and outplayed from start to finish."
According to the coach, the owner has decided to evaluate performance of all officials from the front office now, and that includes coaches.
Whether this strategy works out or not, some commentators believe it can have a negative impact on the team. It raises a big question about prospects of all coaches and they being in fear of losing their jobs may not be able to give hundred percent for the
remaining part of the season.
Bud was pleased about the team's performance last year, and it was first year for Munchak. Even outside opinion showed that the coach had done rather well.
The Titans still have an outright chance to make the playoffs this season, but looking at their record in the last game, the owner may well be right in his analysis and alarm.
