Coach Mike Munchak rues Tennessee Titans poor form – NFL News
Tennessee Titans’ losses are adding to the pressure on coach Mike Munchak and officials from the front office to perform given they are put on an informal notice by owner Bud Adams.
As of the latest, it was one of the poorest forms shown by the Titans versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Nov 25, when they lost half a dozen clear opportunities and ended up losing the game to the rivals who had managed just a single win before walking
over undisciplined Titans.
Coach Mike rued the loss of opportunities and also questioned preparedness and will power of the team for coming into the game. The team did not appear to be willing to play or fight for win and in spite of having seven turnovers and an interception they
failed to capitalise on them.
The official said:
"I don't think guys expected to come in here and just walk out and win the game. Every team in the NFL is a good football team. If you don't think that, you're mistaken. I don't think our team prepared that way. I don't think we came here with that mindset
today. We just didn't execute as well as we needed to win the game."
This sort of performance is nowhere near the expectations of owner Bud Adams who a couple weeks earlier had one-to-one meeting with the coach and warned him of his concerns about the team’s performance.
It was sort of an informal ultimatum that Bud issued Mike Munchak to either get the team perform better otherwise he will scrutinise the entire staff from the front office, including coaches. It was one of very rare warnings of an owner to his team.
Next thing was that the Titans started performing well. They did so for at least a couple of games and then there was their miserable loss to the Jags that has certainly added to the worries for the coach.
As commentators observed it was not just loss but undisciplined performance from the side, which had just fallen short of playing the second round of the league a year earlier. They were thought to be a definite playoff contenders but having only a few wins
in this season does not speak positive of their performance.
