Coach Mike Munchak urges Tennessee Titans for win vs Chicago Bears – NFL Preview
Although the prevalent record is in favour of visiting Chicago Bears, a tight fight can be expected between them and hosts the Tennessee Titans when the American Football Conference (AFC) South division team host the National Football Conference (NFC) North
rivals this Sunday (Nov. 04).
The Bears are coming to the game with massive six wins and a loss while the Titans have lost as many as five games and won three.
No doubt the Bears are a better outfit in comparison with their hosts at a majority of positions but recent performance shows curtailing of that trend. Bears’ offence has started showing some fumbles here and there, while the Titans are aiming consistent
improvement.
With all talk of inspiration from the past’s glorious run by many teams by coach Mike Munchak, the Titans fell short of making it to the playoffs last season, as the opportunity was availed by an unexpected contender, the Cincinnati Bengals.
It was expected that the Titans would return to the regular season with far better performance this year but so far they have been struggling. Lately, there is an indication that the team has shown some consistency in its performance and this must please
the coach, whose second year is rather gloomy after his impressive start as the Titans coach last year.
Nevertheless, a win will be very challenging for the Titans even with the home-field advantage. The Bears have played a game versus another opposition from the AFC South – the Indianapolis Colts – and were returned as victorious. So, they are expected to
have nothing that can prove to be hurdle in their way to another win this weekend.
Quarterbacks Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck are going to be crucial to their team’s win hopes and if they are able to click to their prime form, the team stands a chance for a victory.
Coach Mike explains the situation for the players:
"You're 3-5, that's not good enough. Frustration, it means work your way through it, and let's find a way to turn this around and get to 5-5. Find a way to become a better player and a better team."
This shows that the coach has started feeling a pinch of the continued poor showing by the team, although he himself has not taken the blame or responsibility of those massive losses. The stakes nevertheless are going to increase for the coach as much as
for other members of the team, particularly for the players.
With all the reasoning and scenarios, the odds are in favour of the Bears.
