Coach Mike Tomlin confirms Big Ben in Pittsburgh Steelers versus San Diego Chargers – NFL News
All Pittsburgh Steelers eyes are set upon return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to the starting position as an offence leader this weekend when the team hosts the San Diego Chargers, and some of the teammates see his comeback bringing back the same old
vigour in their lines and ranks.
No one can be more pleased than offensive coordinator Todd Haley because he realises and rues Ben’s absence that has cost the Steelers at least one easily winnable game versus the Cleveland Browns.
Todd said:
"He looks like himself for the most part. Now I don't know what he's feeling when he's doing some of those things. But it looks like he's moving around pretty good."
He added:
"I think he understands his body better than anybody. He's the one that's got to make the decisions and we'll just try to put him in the best positions to succeed."
Ben’s closest buddy wide receiver Mike Wallace is also happy to see the QB at throwing position this weekend. Wallace had been at the receiving end for veteran Charlie Batch for last three games.
Wallace said:
"When Ben's in it's just a whole different level of game planning and things that teams have to do just to compensate for how athletic he is. I think he brings a dimension to the team."
The quarterback has missed three straight games after suffering a rare rib dislocated injury, which was the main hurdle for him to move his arm freely. He also suffered a sprained shoulder at the same time, but according to the doctors since his rib injury
was a rare one, his comeback was difficult to calculate.
Coach Mike Tomlin has now confirmed that the player will start versus the San Diego Chargers this weekend. A similar hope had been set by the team last week but the player was not able to make the team. He did not feel comfortable with his rib situation.
Surprisingly, his team won the game versus their rivals the Baltimore Ravens without him, which in fact had provided some food for boasts to veteran Batch, who claimed that the Steelers were not that dependent on Ben.
