Coach Tey Seu Bock says Lee Chong Wei will be ready for Lin Dan at the 2012 London Olympics

Malaysia’s singles national coach, Tey Seu Bock expressed that Lee Chong Wei will be ready to face China’s Lin Dan at the 2012 London Olympics. The Malaysian shuttler recently suffered a pinching defeat from the hands of the Chinese in the Men’s Singles
final of the 2011 World Championships and missed the chance to become first World Champion from Malaysia.
Seu Bock said that Chong Wei has elevated his level of play for the last couple of years and he is now is equal to the standard of Lin Dan, who bagged his fourth title at the World Championships. The coach also expressed that Lin raises his game in big events,
through it is his mental strength which gives him an advantage over other shuttlers.
Seu Bock Said, “Lin Dan has been suffering uncharacteristic defeats to several players since the 2008 Olympics but when it comes to a major, he makes an extra effort to deny Chong Wei. In fact, Chong Wei also hates losing to Lin Dan but the latter's special
gift to be able to peak on the big occasion gives him the edge.”
Chong Wei played top-class badminton against Lin in the title match of the World Championships, but he came under pressure in the deciding game. He was leading the third set with a 20-18 margin and got two match points, but he could not just finish the encounter.
He got another match point at 21-20, but he again failed to score the point and Lin came from behind and took the title away from the World Number One, Chong Wei.
While talking about Chong Wei’s prospects at the London Olympics, Seu Bock said confidently, “Chong Wei may have lost the early battles but I hope he will be victorious in the London Olympics and it will be good if Lin Dan is on the receiving end.”
The Olympic Games are just one year away and Chong Wei is expected to work harder to improve to a higher level to beat his archrival, Lin, who will be there at the Wembley Arena to defend his title.
