Coast Guard Insurance?

When does the insurance start working on the spouse? Is in while you are in boot camp or after?

The day you go to boot camp.

If you elect coverage at the beginning of boot camp, it begins as of the date you elect coverage.  Since coverage is automatic unless you elect NOT to receive it, you should be covered.  This is, of course, assuming the coverage for the Coast Guard is the same as for the other services (and I can't see why it wouldn't be).
