Coast starlight question?

is the new onboard arcade appropriate for a four year old? i hope i wont be missing the kiddie room.

also, with the new upgrades, was the coach class viewing car remodeled? the train is sold out of coach and sleeping class. i'm holding coach tickets. are my chances for a roomette cancellation slim? and will they allow my three persons if one is very small? my boy would sleep with me anyway.

I have no idea, but I've heard the remodeled Coast Starlight is fantastic and a great experience.  I'm jealous of you.  Have fun!

Can't comment on the kiddie room but have a look at www.railforum.com and read/post in the Amtrak section. There are some very knowledgeable and friendly people there.

As for the roomette, even if you did manage to get a room (and by the sound of it, if the entire train is sold out then it's unlikely), I wouldn't try to get three people in there. The beds are just too narrow for a broad shouldered person like me, let alone an adult and a child in the same bed.
