Coca-Cola Football League Championship - Reading edge past Leicester City in dying minutes
A thumper of a header by Matt Mills in the last few minutes of the match, saw Reading go on to beat Leicester City by two goals to one at the Walkers Stadium.
The Reading captain snuck past everyone to nod home a goal in the eighty sixth minute, right after keeping Leicester out by clearing a ball off his own goal line moment earlier.
Gylfi Sigurdsson struck for the visitors, to give them a lead after he connected with a delicate chip which flew into the Reading goal on the twenty first minute mark.
Right after the half time break, Lloyd Dyer struck for the home side from twenty five yards out.
This win means that The Royals now have not lost a match at The Walkers Stadium in their last four visits there.
The home team started the game, as the brighter team on the night. Dyer floated down the channels early on to cause the Reading defence a major number of problems early on.
However as the match continued it was Reading that seemed to get on top of things. They almost went up on the nineteenth minute mark. Mills heading just wide but the player knew how important that opportunity was as he was spotted holding his head in shame right after watching the ball sail over the bar.
Reading took the lead minutes later through Sigurdsson. The player had a beautiful pass lobbed into his path by Jimmy Kebe, the Icelandic midfielder controlled the ball brilliantly before lobbing it over the on rushing and overly committed goal keeper, Conrad Logan.
The fans were constantly trying to bring the visiting team down. However Lloyd Dyer had the last say right after scoring the equalizer, the player signaled to the crowd that they needed to keep their mouth shuts as he held his finger against his lips.
Leicester were the more dominant side in the second half. However just like the first half they saw the advantage, slip right out of their hands.
The Foxes could have had the lead in the eighty third minute, but Dyer saw his brilliantly taken volley knocked out of harms way by Fedrici.
Three minutes later, Mills rose the highest to head a goal into the roof of the net. Sixty six second earlier to the goal Mills cleared a stray ball from going over the line with his head and in doing so kept his team in the game.
Leicester were on target to scoring again into the extra minutes of stoppage time. Michael Lamey's header was cleared as far as the path of Joao Moreno who had his effort saved brilliantly by Federici.
This win means that Reading will finally be looking to break into the top ten, after the team are left sitting in the thirteenth position. Whereas Leicester will be sitting second from last in the league, with no wins in front of their names so far this season.
