Cockatiel bathing - bath or shower which is best?

my cockatiel enjoys a shower however i have recently bought a bath which fits onto the cage.

Any tips on how i can entice her into it?

  1. Cockatiels prefer showers to bathing as some baths tend to have a slippy surface and this could frighten your bird,baths need to be quite large for them to get a good bath.

    But give it time to get accustomed to the "Intruder" in it's cage.

    A shower is less messy.


  2. I'd just leave her to get used to it on her own. If you try to entice her in and she gets a bit frightened she may become scared of it and never try and use it.

    She's probably a little nervous at the new addition to her cage at the moment and while I can imagine that you just cant wait to see your little feathered friend leap in and start splashing around

    [ I bet its going to be brilliant to watch her!]

    I'd just be patient and let her natural curiousity lead her to it.

    *laughing* I have a picture in my head of her sitting there with a shower cap on, whistling away in a bath of bubbles now!

  3. Some birds never like to bathe..some actually prefer the shower.  It will take time for your bird to get used to her new bath....
