My cockatiel jumped and a bloodfeather just popped right out, it didn't snap. I looked at it and at the tip of the part that was touching the bird there is a little ball that I can only describe as pimple-like. It is blocking blood from pouring out of the feather unless I squeeze it the blood comes out seeming watered down. THe bird is just fine though just wondering what this squishy orb is.

  1. Feathers start out as little pimples on the birds body. The feather was obviously fully developed and it's great that your bird is fine! The orb at the end is probably the remnants and would've been pretty much pushed out anyways when a new feather grows in. Think of it like when you pull out or lose a hair that still has the follicle at the end.

That is really gross but it definitely doesn't seem like anything to be worried about!
