If my cockaitels bred, should I buy a incubator to put the eggs in, or should I leave them with the mom? I'm thinking about leaving them wit hthe mom. So whats the point of a incubator if you should leave the eggs with the mom?

  1. if you leave the egg with the mum you wont need an incubator the mother will act as the incubator. do you have a male cockatiel aswell other the egg wont be fertilized. i would suggest you leave the egg with the mother as hand raising and feeding it takes time, commitment and lots of effort. you cant just miss one feed other wise it would die, and the temperature of the food needs to be at a certain temperature otherwise you can burn its crop. there are so much stuff involved its not just game. so leave it with its mother let her have the first one then re-think about hand rearing one. also you cant just take away the egg let it hatch then give it back to the mother, she will reject it and it WILL die.

  2. Why are you planning to make more birds?  If you need more birds, please visit your local animals shelter and adopt a bird in need.
