Cockatiel cage set up?

Question

i am going to get a cockatiel near the end of the month. i know a lot about these birds. what is the ideal cage set up for a cockatiel and can i give him quaker granola (with rasins,honey, and almonds) and waffles (with no syrup). also can a 12 year oid take care of him. Oh this cage i am getting is twice the size of a normal sized cage for a cockatiel so i have plenty of room. So i just want know if there is anything i can put in there to make it more natural. thanks a bunch
