Cockatiel eggs!! help please !!?

hi everybody

my problem is that i have 2 cockatiels a male and a female. my male tiel has reasantly gone blind from old age as it is 20 years old. however the female lays eggs all the time and the male wont sit on them becasue he cant see hem. any advice?

  1. You cant make him sit on the eggs so the only other option, if you wanting to hatch them, is to get an incubater and hatch them yourself.

  2. if you want to hatch them then you could get an incubator if you can't get them to sit on them.

  3. Well I would retire the male. COME ON! 20 yrs old and blind and you are upset HE won't sit on the eggs?  Try putting him in another cage away from the female and go out and buy another male to put in with HER. I doubt the eggs are going to hatch at all if the male can't even see he sure isn't interested in breeding her either. The old man bird needs to be retired and taken out of that situation. You will likely kill him at this point if you truely expect him to be a good breeder bird at his age and being blind. I feel sorry for the poor bird being expected to be a good breeder at his age.
