Cockatiel help!?!?!?!?!?!?

Question

I heard that if you teach a cockatiel to whistle first then he will not talk.I got a tiel (male) and I want him to talk and whistle.

male are more likely to talk if taught religously in the first 6 weeks, females are more likely to copy whistles.

first teach it to talk then whistle.and if u have a cockateil and u said the pharse that u want it to repeat then say it atleast 100 times and if u have said it over 500 times then giveup and teach it too whistle cause it wont talk.

Nah, that's not true at all.

Birds do whisle and talk, mine do both.

My Grey first whisles Bob Bob White, then say's Bob Bob White.

Teach them young and make it a fun experience between the two of you and Enjoy!

One of my tiels learned to whistle first. ie: Bridge over the River Quai, Farmer in the Dell, wolf whistle, come here sound, etc.  Anyway, he calls to 2 of my other birds across the room saying " Hello Cassie"  "Hello Joe" and blows kisses.
