  1. LOL Fabreeze her. just kidding...i don't know. I think you're going to have to deal with the smell.

  2. get rid of the bird

  3. Get a spray bottle and spray her down with water forcing her to take a bath.

  4. I think your bird should possibly be seen by an avian vet for a checkup. Your cockatiel shouldn't have a foul odor. She could be harbouring an infection. I have a cockatiel, he has no scent. His food (pelleted diet) smells a bit fruity, but otherwise, he and his cage are odor-free. If you got your bird from a pet store, I would call the store, ask for the supervisor, and inquire as to the health history of your bird. If you purchased her from a breeder, you should have a guarantee of health from them.  Cockatiel droppings also do not smell, and are easy to clean up. Check her vent area (if she'll let you) to see if you can spot any redness, discharge, or flaking, indicative of an infection there. If she is of breeding age, she could be egg-bound (egg trapped inside--an emergency, and only remedied by a competent vet!) And be sure to use only plain newspaper or paper towels at the cage bottom--do not use corncob bedding, cat litter, etc.; besides being possible sources of consumption by your bird, causing impaction, these types of products can also harbor some nasty bacteria which I assume would stink pretty bad!  (Newspaper or paper towels will also allow you to monitor your bird's droppings for healthy ones vs. those of a sick tiel.) At the very least, though, definitely call whomever you purchased her from, and ask for an explanation.

  5. Birds do have a smell, but it should not be very strong.  Usually, it is something in the environment that causes odor.  The room with the cage should be ventilated all the time.  Since it is summer and humid, cage liner needs to be changed daily to reduce bacterial growth.  My birds also get daily bath or water bottle spray.  They like getting clean.

  6. I would try doing a google serch on line, if you can't find anything there i would try calling your local petco/petsmart, or try the local vet. Good luck.

  7. Clean the cage and squirt it with water from a spray bottle. If that doesn't help, take it to a very. I have a cockatiel, as well, and just 'giving it a bath' once a week works fine.

  8. i've never known a bird to stink. could be a hygiene problem?

open a window and maybe take her to a vet.
