  1. Its not going to kill it but I wouldnt let it eat any more. More than anything it was sucking the salt out of the meat. They need to have gravel and calcium blocks in their cages for minerals and digestion purposes. If yours doesnt have any of that , thats probably why it wanted the salt from the meat.

i think this might help you

  3. Cockateils are members of the Parrot Family, and in general Parrots like meat. It is not usually advisable to give them meat however. The excess protein can tend to make a bird overly aggressive if he is regularly fed meat. One time that meat can help is at molting time, since feathers are formed of protein. A bit of meat at that time can be helpful to the bird which is getting in his new feathers.

Not all Cockateils will like meat, but our Quaker Parrot loves it! We just make sure he does not get too much so that he stays his own lovable self!

  4. It should be fine, im sure a little wont kill it. In future dont let it get to any of your meat. Food like that generally upsets their digestive system, and makes them feel uncomfortable. just be sure to look out for signs of it getting sick like eg:

    1. Loss of apetite

    2. Change in personality

    3. Change in bowel (p**p)

If you notice these changes, then a visit to your local avian vet is recocomended.

Avoid giving your bird foods that contain seasoning, iron, and oil. This is very dangerous to birds, especially the iron. And can poison them slowly.

Hope this helps you and good luck =]
