Cockatiel question?

Our cockatiel goes around tapping his beak on things, usually also when he is talking a whistling, why do they do this??

  1. Male cockatiels use "drumming" (and whistling) to impress mates, signal their superiority to other males, and increase their ranking in the flock.  If there were other cockatiels around, they would each tap their beak rapidly in turn, signaling how very macho they are.


  2. well well! Its a male cockatiel. He is ready to mate. Do you happen to have a female cockatiel around? Well, if so, to male is trying to tell the female he is ready to mate! Those are the signs of him telling a female. Good Luck!
