  1. first you need to let them get used to you, when you go by there cage don't move fast or make any sudden or loud noises

let them get to know you if tehy don't want to be by you at the moment just accept that and try to be patient

you have to realize that you are like 50 million times their size

just be patient and try every day to get then to be by you

  2. The best way to get a cockatiel to trust you is by hand feeding them. Put their favorite treat in your hand and be very still. It helps them feel safe and they should get used to it in no time.

  3. It takes a lot of time, especially if they are older and not tame in the first place. And patience is the key to a good bond with your birds. First, take your time. Start by just simpling sitting by them, talking to them. Then you could progress onto feeding them one of their favourite treats (millet works wonderfully!). After a while they should learn that you are no threat to them. You could then go on the finger-taming them. When doing this, first use a stick, and push it against their belly. Eventually, they will realise that they need to step on it. Then use a finger.

This takes time, though. I can't say how long. Every bird is different. Some of my birds tamed within days, another one took a year and a half (a budgie which came to me, completely un-tame, now he is sweet as pie!).

    Good luck!

  4. Do everything in baby steps.

Just sit close to the cage, read, watch tv etcc and let them get used to you.

When they are used to you, stand and look in the cage periodically.

Eventually get them used to you with their cage door open

Then your hand at the cage door.

Et cetera... you see where i am going

It might take days, weeks, and sometimes months, but if you want your new friends to like you it is worth the effort.

  5. first cover them with a towel then pick him up keep his eyes covered so he stays calm and scratch his head keep doing this until they get used to it

  6. .First have their wings clipped!! You will see a very big difference in them, let their door open after you have them clipped let it open only when you can supervise them.If they flutter to the floor don't grab them just put you finger up to their chest and say up or come on it will take time and patience.

    Good-Luck to you.

                              Remember patience.
