1. Erm, you bathe them? How?

Cockatiels keep their feathers looking good by preening themselves, bathing helps them not be dirty but preening is what keeps the feathers arranged neatly. If one of your birds looks scruffy all the time, it may be because he has feather mites. Another symptom of feather mites is if he digs at himself a lot like he's itchy. My first bird had both symptoms when my grandma rescued him from a garage sale. You should be able to buy something to treat mites from your local pet store.

To help gain their trust, do something that will make your appearance a Good Thing so that they look forward to seeing you approach their cage. Millet sprigs are like cockatiel candy. If your birds are willing you may be able to get them to eat it through the bars while you hold on to the end. If they don't trust you enough to do that yet, you can simply leave two one inch-long pieces (an inch of sprig is proportional to one bird) of the sprig stuck halfway through the bars, so they can sit there and eat it, and once they trust you more you can coax them to eat it while you're holding it. Millet is a 'tiel's all-time favorite food, and if you do this once every day or couple days, it will help them see that when you approach the cage it is a very, very Good Thing.

  2. make sure u dont feed it too much millet, it will get sick and maybe die it u feed it too much.
