Cockatoo feathers not growing?

my cockatoo I adopted last year was stressed due to lack of companion. i have been with him, taking him out, carrying him, petting, putting feather baths specially for fetahers, and well, his feathers are still as when I adopted him, they dont grow. I dont know wat else to do, any vitamines, something he can eat, or wat can i do, please help

  1. Are you sure the bird is not picking his feathers yet? Have you seen the bird scratching herself or another kind of symptoms as dermis injury?  The feathers need about two months to grow again but if the bird still picking the nude zone will persist. Some birds take as habit pick her feathers nevertheless the reason for do it have finish.

        Anyway you could give him an avian birds vitamin complex. Ask in the pet store about it.


  2. Sometimes a bird plucks their feathers for so long they never grow back. If you do not know how long it was plucking before you got it, then you have no idea if they will ever come back. In most cases they wont grow back if the bird has plucked so long it destroyed the feather folical for growing back. Nothing anyone can do will make them come back so learn to love the birds without judgeing its appearance.
