Cockerill delighted with winLeicester Tigers coach Richard Cockerill says he was delighted with his team's impressive win over Leeds.Leicester won the Premiership clash 48-6 to eradicate the inconsistent start the side has made to the season. Leicester now sits fifth in the table with 12 points after four games.Cockerill says the side improved in many areas and an efficient defensive display allowed an impressive victory. It's important Leicester maintains this good form over the coming weeks.Leicester looked strong in a number of areas. It's important to remember that the season is long and there is still plenty of time for the team to get near the top of the table.Improved areasLeicester moved the ball quickly against Leeds. If there was no clear scoring chance then the ball was offloaded to the nearest Leicester player. This stretched the Leeds defence all over the pitch and created a number of gaps for Leicester to attack. The passing and general ball handling from the side was much better than previous weeks. There were few unforced errors within the team. This meant Leicester did not give the ball away and had a good chance of scoring whenever the side had possession. The defence looked sharp and well-drilled. As soon as there was any sign of a Leeds threat, a number of Leicester players got across to cover. The solid defence allowed the team to win the ball back in key areas of the pitch. This made Leicester difficult to break down and Leeds became predictable.Cockerill said: "I thought the whole performance was based on a really good set-piece.The scrum was a really good foundation while our ball control was better. There were eight tries in the end. You take a bonus point win and move on.We have had a lot of criticism chucked our way and we have just tried to keep our own counsel."Time to recoverLeicester has not started the season in the same form as title rivals Northampton and Bath. Therefore this impressive display comes just at the right time. It should help the side maintain momentum over the next few weeks in order to push for the top of the table.A lot of sides often endure a blip at some point during a season. Some pundits have suggested that Leicester's blip has been and gone because Cockerill is experienced enough to make sure the big win over Leeds is replicated. The side will be in the top four by the end of the season if that is the case.Leeds coach Neil Back added: "We were second best today. Leicester were sharper and we are very disappointed. We didn't take our opportunities when they presented themselves. We made too many errors and missed too many one-on-one tackles and you can't do that in the Premiership."Betting adviceLeicester was and still is a great tip to win the Premiership title.
