Cockroach in food yuck!?

Question

I ordered some take out from this Chinese restaurant. I have eaten there before and never had a problem but this last time, it will definitely be the last, my wife found a cockroach in her pad Thai! I took the food back, got our money back and the next day my wife called the city health department but they didn't really seem to be interested in doing anything about it. I guess they made the claim but that is about it. They even said the restaurant may not even come to pick up the claim.

Is there anything else that can be done?

eeew that is so nasty!!   I'm from Ohio and in my city we have a news channel that you can call, it's called, 13 call for action or something like that. They will actually go to the restaurant and ask them about the incident on camera. Maybe your local news station has something like that, at least that way you can warn other people about the food and health violations that they have!  YUCK!

I'm not sure how well this will work for you, but it's worth a try. If you can write into your local newspaper & have your story about this situation published, you'll get the word out about this Chinese restaurant. Our local newspaper puts out a column from readers who want to get things noticed. Hope this helps.

Make some flyers, post in popular areas and on bulletin boards at community colleges, grocery stores, etc. Also, notify the local paper and TV stations. Ever heard of "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"? Well, keep calling the health department, I suspect you will eventually get in touch with someone who cares enough to handle it.

I agree w Michelle.It does seem as though every news station has a call in whats your problem and you can write and explain the trouble you had....they will put it to the public and let them decide I know I wouldnt eat there again!!!!

On the news sites they usually have the health dept rating so you can look at it.

Notify your local paper and television stations. There are reporters that love to let the public know about things like that.
