"What does cocktailing mean to you?"

I hear they may ask me this question.. My mind draws a blank.

  1. More than any other factor, the cocktail waitress is the essence of the establishment - she is the link to the customer that either keeps them or turns them away.  She has a responsibility (even the privilege) of keeping the customer satisfied.  At the same time she has the responsibility of ensuring that no patron is over-served or makes it out on the street in a dangerous state.  This requires a high degree of people skills and a genuine love of the job and the people she serves.

Or, to put it more simply - she's the girl that brings me my drinks.

  2. There are many variables to your question, beginning mainly with what type of establishment you are attempting to gain employment with.  The most general answer would be that you are providing a requested and desired service with a pleasant demeanor in a timely manner.
