I want to get a job as a cocktail waitress in a casino in Biloxi. I would be working inside a bar in the casino. I would not be working on the casino floor. I will be 21 in 4 months but, will I be able to cocktail at a bar if I am emancipated? I know I could be a cocktail without experience because my husband works at the casino and he could get me on. Please give detail on being emancipated and working at a casino bar. I live in Biloxi, Mississippi

  1. You have to have passed your 21st birthday, no matter what.  You have to be 21 years of age or older to work in a bar.  There is no way around the age 21 or older law.

Emancipation only applies to people under 18, that want to be considered adults.

  2. No you definitely have to be 21 and will most likely start on the extra board so just hang on and wait I had to do the same thing when I first broke in to the casino business. BTW does your husband have any pull with the craps pit? As soon as I finish school I will be looking for a job. Where does your husband work?

  3. it doessn't matter if your emancipated..and besides your married  but under 21  .you need to be 21 in many states to serve alcohol..they dont't want to take the chance of you serving any one under the age of 21

  4. Emancipated doesn't make you outside of the law.  21.

  5. If you're already married, what difference does it make if you are emancipated?   I don't believe you can step on a casino floor until you are 21...
