I am giving my parents a surprise anniversary party at a hotel. Most of the crowd is in their 60's and 70's . I am not sure what friends of my moms or dads drink. I know my stepbrother would like a beer or drink, I would, my brother maybe , my sister a drink definitely (lol) and some of my moms friends.

Since I am paying for the party during the cocktail hour outside by the pool area there is soft drinks, water, and one speciality drink either a pina colada or a mud slide which one would be good for a party in October in Florida. If anyone wants a beer they can go to the outside bar and pay for it themselves

At the main reception it will be champagne toast , sangria on each table in a pitcher (2 pitches on each table, soft drinks if they watn to order and water of course.

at the end is coffee, tea with the cake and dessert.

Is this a good choice for beverages?

thank you

  1. For a crowd like that, I would go for a classic, simple drink, like a manhattan or other martini. You could also go for a wine.  The hotel is sure to have a red and white house wine that is not too expensive

  2. i think your choices sound great... and definately go for the pina colada over the mud slide.... much more of a classic and not sooo chocolatey, some of those people probably dont even know what a mudslide is...
