Hello,

I want to purchase an Emulsifier (to bind water and oil) and I researched that Cocount is used as an emulsifier. When I searched for coconut emulsifier, my research reveals that it is an oil, however when I attempt to purchase, the bottles say: Coconut Oil or Coconut Essential Oil.

Question:

Is Coconut Essential Oil the same as Coconut Emulsifier?

Are they one in the same?

So basically, is a Coconut Essential Oil the same exact thing as an Emulsifier....are the names used INTERCHANGEABLY?

Thanks in advance!

  1. No they are not one and the same.
Coconut oil is/should be solid at room temperature. It is pure expressed coconut.
Fractionated coconut oil - This oil is liquid at room temperature, Expeller Pressed then steam distilled.
Coconut emulsifier has PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate to make it dispersible with oils.
