I have an emergency dentist appointment in a few hours because I has a filling fall out and my molar is completely rotted out and in EXTREME pain. I also have root infection and need a canal i think because oragel does nothing. I do not like codeine as it makes me itch horribly. Dentist usually wants to prescribe me Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and that doesn't have much of an effect on me for whatever reason. I was prescribed I believe Oxycodone in the past and it worked great and completely subsided the pain but I do not want to become addicted so of course I use it only as directed. However, I fear that if I bluntly ask the dentist for Oxycodone he will think that I am an addict or something and he will not give it to me. I hope a dentist will answer this question or someone with experience in the situation, so how should I go about telling the dentist that I would like Oxycodone for my pain as I know it is what works best for me? Will he assume i am just trying to get "high" or something if I ask specifically for Percocet? Please help, thank you!
