Let's say airline A codeshares a flight with airline B. Where does the profit from that flight go? Do both airlines split the earnings to each other?

  1. As far as I understand the system, being a very frequent flyer, the Airlines share the revenue from codeshared flights at a percentage that is determined by the route that the flight is on. Say a London to NY flight would have lot more revenue than say other routes, ans so the negotiations for that route would be far more fierce than other routes.

Say a Codeshared passanger originating with one ariline A flies on airline B. Then another way could be, that  B will then be obligated to give A another passanger on the same route.

Not a 100% sure how this works though.
