Cody Miller earns Men’s 100yard breaststroke gold – Indiana vs. Virginia vs. Penn State Tri Meet
Cody W Miller of Hoosiers earned gold medal of the Men’s 100yard breaststroke at the 2012 Indiana vs. Virginia vs. Penn State Tri Meet on Friday, November 16 in Bloomington, Indiana.
Miller crushed hopes of his opponents in the 100yard discipline as he enjoyed a prominent lead over his opponents and surfaced on the wall for gold medal.
With his impeccable pace, he remained body length away from his toughest swimmer and reached the finishing wall for gold medal with a wonderful timing of 55.20 seconds.
The gold medallist remained 0.90 seconds ahead of Yannick Kaeser of Virginia-VA, who secured silver medal of the race by producing a nice time of 56.10 seconds.
Third spot of the discipline was secured by Taylor M Grey of Virginia-VA, who was only 0.10 seconds apart stepped on the victory stand by producing a time of 56.20 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by James N Wilson of Penn State-MA, who was 0.51 seconds slower and clocked a time of 56.71 seconds for fourth position.
Similarly, Wilson was chased by Nic Montes de Oca of Virginia-VA, who tried hard to improve his position but failed to do so. Martini remained more than half a second slower from his preceding swimmer and settled on the finishing end for fifth position by producing a time of 57.38 seconds.
Sixth finest spot of the event was gained by Matheus S Martini of Virginia-VA, who stayed 0.15 seconds slower from his teammate and posted a time of 57.53 seconds.
Martini was chased by Ian F Boggs of Hoosiers, who was 0.35 seconds apart and concluded his race in a time of 57.88 seconds for seventh position.
Boggs faced tough competition from Mike M Hurley throughout the race but managed to escape him over the finishing end in the last lap. Hurley was 0.52 seconds slower from Boggs and hit the finishing end by posting a time of 58.40 seconds.
Furthermore, Miller was delighted with his title claiming effort and said that he would try to make his fans proud by continuing the same at higher levels of sport.
