Cody Rhodes says he beat Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules – WWE update
Friday Night SmackDown took place in Orlando, Florida five days after Extreme Rules. Cody Rhodes appeared on the show and declared that he was actually the winner at Extreme Rules when he fought Rey Mysterio. He also added that he had successfully exposed
that Mysterio was craven, desperate, and coward.
Cody entered the ring with a paper bag mask on his head and passed out some for WWE crowd with the help of his assistants. He talked about his Falls Count Anywhere Match at Extreme Rules. Cody said that Mysterio spit an unknown substance into his eyes because
he was scared of him. Cody also said that Mysterio added insult to injury by doing that. The superstar furhter said that he would not leave him whether he was in Raw.
Cody has already lost his Extreme Rules Falls Count Anywhere Match match to Mysterio. The Master took the amazing victory before being drafted to Monday Night Raw. The Extreme Rules match was his last match in the SmackDown roster and he walked away with
a gracious victory.
The feud between Cody and Mysterio started on 21st January on SmackDown. The Underdog, Mysterio blasted Cody with his finishing move 619 that broke Cody’s nose. The constant confrontations between Cody and Mysterio resulted in a WrestleMania XXVII
match. Rey was dominated and a very brutal victory was taken by Cody at WrestleMania XXVII but Cody was still angry with Mysterio. He continued to assault Mysterio during SmackDown shows. Now, as Mysterio was drafted to Monday Night Raw, it was the last chance
for Cody to hurt The Underdog. Cody stated that he would put Mysterio on the stretcher at Extreme Rules so that he could never go to Raw. Cody also designed a paper-bag mask for Mysterio and promised to put it on Mysterio after defeating him at Extreme Rules.
At Extreme Rules, Cody took those bags with him. He gave the bags to his fans and asked them to put the paper masks on. The both superstar took the full benefit from the Falls Count Anywhere Match structure. The Ultimate Underdog, Mysterio took the benefit
of a new trick in his ring arsenal. He spit a strange blue-green mist into Cody’s face and body. The Master disoriented Cody and knocked Cody on the ropes to setup for the 619 position. Recalling the beat down he receive from Cody, The Master hit his opponent
with a 619 and Springboard Splash Combo three counts.
After the victory, Mysterio joined the Monday Night Raw roster while Cody was left behind in SmackDown. Despite his Extreme Rules loss, Cody still burns with resentment and is finding ways to collide Mysterio.
