  1. I don't think he liked the fly mask, and I think he was going to let you know, but he'll get used to it, good luck

  2. That's pretty easy to answer.  Cody wanted attention.  You gave it to Fancy (I think that's the name you were trying to spell.).  His ears being back meant he was unhappy about the time you spent with Fancy and that he feels you are HIS person and just wanted you to take him out and spend time with him.

My old horse who was a boxstall baby, got mad at me when I put him in a pipe corral once and then because of things going on at home, couldn't get down there for him in a month.  He BIT me!  In the over 20 years we were together that's the ONLY time he ever made any attempt at violence with me.

  3. He could have been saying "stay in here." In his own horsey way. I can't tell you exactly what happened because there really aren't enough details. How did you move him? What other aggression was there? Was he acting like he was protecting the other horse or keeping you from the gate?

I'd say, from what little I see, that he wanted you to stay there and he was dominating you. You need to keep him from doing that, if he pins his ears on you and shows aggression to you, smooch at him, raise your arms and say "HEY!" -- drive him away from you. If a horse ever turns it's hindquarters to you, drive it away. No horse should ever disrespect your space because it's dangerous. I never hit horses or beat horses -- I use the method of if they show me disrespect, they work. If my horses turn their hindquarters to me when I go to catch them, they immediately get a "free-lounging" lesson until they decide to stop and show me their eyes. When I get both eyes, the horses get treats and love.

Good horses = treats and love.

Naughty horses = work -- then treats and love :).

    good luck.

  4. i think he was jealous of phancy that you were giving him all the attention and not cody.

he blocked the gate because he didnt want you to leave and spend time with him.

my horse has done that before he was just jelouse thats all
