Coffee Exploded and now unit just hums.

Question

Yesterday I think I pressed a couple to many zeros on the timer and blew up a cup of coffee. I heard a two loud pops, one from the mircowave and one when the circuit breaker tripped. After drying out the inside, I figured I'd let it dry over night before plugging it back in. Now when I plug it in it hums like it is running. However, the lights nor control panel are funtioning. Sounds like a short to me. Is this worth calling in someone to repair it? It is three years old.
