I'm taking the SAT's tomorrow morning. And I was thinking about drinking a cup of coffee before it so I stay awake and focused during the test. I usually don't drink coffee so I wouldn't know

  1. If you normally don't drink coffee, the morning before an SAT is a BAD time to start.

I drink Mt Dew but coffee gives me the $hits.

If you're one of the people who has that reaction to coffee, you're going to severely s***w up your ability to focus on the test if you have cramps, and or have to keep running to the bathroom.

If you drink Mt Dew or Coke or something else with caffeine and don't have a problem with that I would just stick to that.

  2. Do you normally drink caffeinated beverages?  Then one coffee won't hurt.  In fact it'll keep you alert, but I'd keep it to one cup of normal coffee, not espresso or anything.  Any more than that and you'll be so jittery you'll lose focus and attention span.  Good luck on them!

  3. If you are a caffeine drinker, make sure you have caffeine in your system before taking the test - trust me.  Caffeine headaches while you are trying to concentrate (particularly on a bear of a test like the SATs) are no fun!

  4. you definitely should.  caffeine is a stimulant,  it will help you focus.  i always drink coffee before taking a test or doing a paper.

  5. I'd say you shouldn't.  I think you should stay with your normal routine as much as possible.  If you regularly drank coffee, I'd say do it, but I think you shouldn't add in any new variables.  (Coffee gives me a headache and makes me panicky).  Good luck

  6. In all actuality, that will be a benefit, since coffee has caffeine, and that makes you alert.  Also, make sure you have some breakfast, with lots of protein, eggs will do the trick, and go easy on the carbs, no bagels or the like.
