When I buy coffee beans I put the extra in the freezer until I need them, does this really keep them fresh longer or is there a better way?

  1. No, it actually dries them out!

I'm a coffee snob and I used to do that myself until I talked to a real expert who explained that in opening up the frozen airtight container moisture is released.

This doesn't happen at room temp!

Now I simply keep them at room temp and I make a better cup of coffee, especially towards the end of the pound!

  2. This works, or you can also store them in an air-tight (vacuum) container.

  3. Putting anything in the freezer will keep it fresh longer.....there is no other way. Cigs keep in the freezer too

  4. Are you talking about whole beans that you grind for your morning cup of Joe?....They should keep better in the freezer...although if you lived in my house, coffee flows freely....Your beans wouldn't need frozen...= )
