  1. http://www.pcgs.com/prices/

    You can search for your specific type of silver dollar by year/and condition to determine worth...this is updated daily.

  2. Coin collectors will want some additional information, beyond just the date of 1890:

    1) They will need to know at which mint the coin was made. The mint mark can be found on the back of the coin, just below the bow ribbon on the wreath. The mint marks are "S" for San Francisco, "O" for New Orleans, and "CC" for Carson City. If there is no mint mark, your coin was made at the central mint in Philadelphia. The Carson City coin is the most valuable of the 1890 silver dollars. (Check the PCGS website for details at http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDet...

    )

    2) Coin collectors also want to know the condition of your coin. When you visit the PCGS website price guide you'll notice right away that condition matters! The 1890-CC dollar, for example, retails at $95 in "Good-4" condition, and ten times that amount, $950, in "Mint State-63" condition.

    You may want to keep your coin and begin a collection. You coin is known as a Morgan Dollar, after the designer. More on this at http://www.valuable-coin-stories.com/mor... and if you want to leartn more about all US silver dollars, visit http://www.valuable-coin-stories.com/uni...
