My daughters b/f has had bad luck with cars..it's been 6 months now and he has had 7 cars take a dump on him..several times I have had to tow his cars home. Now the other thing...I have a company car 2006 scion...I also have a 1965 GMC..my wife has a 1997 Ford f150 and my daughter has a 1997 Blazer.

We never had any problems with the vehicles..ever in the years we had them only regular maint. was done...now here is the weird part...since he started riding in each vehicle at any given time..they have been breaking down...The scion had blown a tire and the back latch broke off...the gmc blew 2 freeze plugs and a new shock broke...the f150 the a/c started blowing sparks and some transmission thing went out and a flat on year old $300 tire...the blazer blew an axle, 2 tires, 4 freeze plugs, the hub for the 4wheel drive and the fuel pump.

All within the 6 months he's been around....now he hasn't been around in 3 weeks(army stuff) and not a single problem has happened. Coincedence?

  1. you should check where he is at now,to see what others vehicles had been 'damage',because of his presence in them, that way you can get to conclusions regarding what

you might think is bad luck or coincidence,i mean is a good

    way to find out

  2. I think you know the answer.  Do not allow this person to drive anything you have he is trashing your vehicles.  And running them way to hard.

  3. Car do that. Your daughter b/f probably is smart enough to buy inexpensive used cars which might only last a year or so, but he isnt paying for them for 6 years.

The thing is, even the newest japanese car off the boat, can c**p out within a week. You never know with cars.

Your daughters b/f is not bad luck and has nothing to do with the problems with the cars, unless he is actually poping the tires and sawing through the axels... etc.

If you never had problems with those other cars, then problems were long overdue.

  4. Coincidence

  5. Occurances like this ARE strange. One might ask, if it's claimed that this (or things like it) are, in fact coincidences, then what is the purpose? To send us messages? If so, what are they?

Then, on the other hand if it is given that this is actually 'bad luck', then how and for what purpose? I think 'bad luck' is just our way of collectively lumping together a host of unknowns into a (sort of) comfortable way of talking about them.

I would say that while odd......it is *probably not* outside statistical boundaries. It's possible to throw long strings of heads, or tails in a fair coin toss. Given scenarios where such a thing is measured it has been seen that multiple heads (or tails) in a row will show, but overall, the number of heads and the number of tails is still within the 50% range.

So...I guess this is how I respond to this. Tho strange, it's possible that this guy has never had any trouble with any other vehicle he's ever driven or ridden in, including the army. He may think it's *your* vehicles* that are bad!

I guess it's all how you look at things.     :)

Interesting question and observation for sure! Maybe you'll get some tools for Father's Day!

Dare I say..........good luck to you!

  6. One or two might be bad luck, but it sounds like he's really hard on vehicles.  I have a friend who just destroys them by driving like an idiot - too fast, goes up on curbs, takes them off-road - no one will ride with him anywhere.  Maybe this guy is the same.

  7. mind problem!problematik!

  8. In case it went unnoticed, it was written that he is only the passenger. I drive my cars hard, crashed all my cars too. But i accept it since I am exposing myself to risks. But your daughter bf.... I dun think anybody up there hates him, it is just coincidence to the point that its bad luck... try letting him pick the number for your sweepstake, he might just beat the odds again, in the positive way. cheers!!
