  1. I have an answer. It depends on what time of year it is. If it is in the summer it,ll be rarer than the winter. In the winter, cold currents and winds blow from the north pole. The closer you are to the pole, the more seasonal effects there will be. In southern California, they will be more spread apart heading towards the equator but since it is usually mild in South California, the cold fronts will not be as cold as the north but will be more recognizeable. So for the answer, in the winter, up north, in the summer, from the south or from the East because mountains cause winds to shoot up in higher, cooler elevations.


  2. Cold fronts will have to come from the North. Low pressure systems usually don't come from the ocean because of the dominance of high pressure.
