Cold Hearted means what?

I have been called cold-hearted by friends, family and probably aquaintences. I don't know what this means.

Cold hearted: lacking sympathy or feeling; indifferent; unkind.

Well, not to offend or anything but cold-hearted means that one is lacking empathy and /or sympathy for others (lacking in compassion).

It is not the same as being like, wicked or anything, but more like that when people are going through a difficult period in their lives and they need comfort and support from others, instead of cheering them up or being there for them, one is actually insensitive and sort of deliberately ignorant of it. They don't feel that it is worth cheering the people up; they think that it is a waste of time etc.

If you have been called cold-hearted for these reasons, it can be easily solved.

Just listen more to others more. Certain people are not so straightforward with their feelings so they may hint to you of their present condition. Look out for these signs and try to help in any way you can. Often, emotional support is enough for them to tide through the period so just do it. Be more patient and don't always carry that "You deserved it" tone even when they could not have help it as well.
