Cold and hot in the ocean.?

randomly at the beach, while in the water, there will be warm spots and sum freezing cold? why is that? and if u answer sumone pissed **** you and ima report your answer so not worth it.

  1. Have you ever noticed that if you make a bath with hot water first and the then added the cold water without using your hand to stir them all up they don't mix? You'll end up with areas of hot and cold.

    This is because of the different densities of the water. Hot water is less dense than cold water.

    Water is most dense at 4 degrees Celsius.

    The sun would warm up water which would result in warmer, less dense patches. The tide in the water would move these water around, resulting in colder water being brought up too. These patches will eventually mix but because of the temperature difference (and density difference) they remain separated for a while.


  2. The water is shallow and has the time to warm up somewhat from the sunshine and warm air. The cooler water will swirl in and mix to give you that sensation of the difference in temperature

  3. It probably just has to do with the sun - the sun warmed up that water and is pushed on in from the tide.
