whats the absolutley best thing to get rid of a cold sore the fastest?

I did some research when I got mine because I did not want anyone to see it.  It started tingling and I began taking the 500 mg Lysine tablets every four hours.  From there, I applied heat to swell the blister and make it pop on it's own.  I did NOT pop it with a needle.  I applied campho phenique and Lysine cream to my lip and got in bed.  The next morning, my lip was swollen and you could see where the blisters had turned into one blister.  I began by popping a Lysine (500 mg) and applied an ice cube(Placed in a ziplock) until it melted.  The ice cube will feel hot on your lip, but keep applying it.  Next step - dip a qtip in nail polish remover with acetone.  IT WORKS!!!   It will burn a little, but that burn is nothing compared to the burn of a cold sore anyway, so just bite the bullet and do it!   After about ten minutes, take the nail polish remover off with warm water.  I did another round of ice after that, popped another Lysine and then did the nail polish remover again.  I then followed it with clear deodorant (gel kind) and put a huge amount of it on the infected area.  I let it dry until it was white (5-10 min).  I wiped it off with a warm cloth.  I repeated this several times.  By the end of the afternoon, I PROMISE you my cold sore was barely there.  It looked like I had a zit on my face below my lip.  This whole process took like a day and a half to cure!   But Lysine, nail polish remover, clear deodorant and ice all seemed to work together!!!   Long process, I know, but it beats having people look at the nasty germ that is infecting your mouth!  I HATE them!  Hope this helps you!
