Coldsore help?!!!?plz?

Ugh I have a coldsore I got t yesterday and its gettin bigger how long does it take for a cold sore to heal ...... I have school on wed. Will it be gone by then .... Or how can I make it go away faster?!! Thanks in advance

Hi I have the same problem as you. I actually got mine on Thursday and it isn't going away...But I've been researching on how to get rid of it since I saw that tiny red mark on my lip. I came up with a whole bunch of different answers. So far, here's what I got from it:

Ice - only works if you catch it before blister comes up and you have to hold it there for hours on end.

Salt - doesn't work (unless it popped without your doing, then it will work and sting like a b****)

Hydrogen Peroxide - made it worse

toothpaste - doesn't work

abreva - only works if you catch it BEFORE there is a blister

Changing diet to include lots of vitamin B, C and lysine - still trying it out, started yesterday.

The thing I can tell you is that you should definately try taking lysine pills, 1000 mg a day until it's 100% gone. It's the only thing I could find that is actually backed up scientifically. If 1000 mg a day doesn't work, try 1500 until it's not so big anymore, then take the 1000mg a day until it's gone. DO NOT POP IT!!! (it WILL scar, and it will be there for a long time)
