The 31-year-old winger has expressed his delight after rejoining the club where he started his career, and has insisted that he always had a special place in his heart for the Hammers.
West Ham United newly acquired winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694, has insisted that he always loved the Hammers due to his time at the Boleyn Ground during his youth days.
The 31-year-old was having a troublesome time at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 since his move to Anfield in the summer of 2010 after making close to 200 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.
The Reds management eventually terminated the Englishman contract, and the Hammers were quick to acquire the veteran winger-c*m-midfielder’s services on a free transfer.
Cole, who came through the ranks of the Irons youth academy and started his professional career in the 1998/99 season at the Boleyn Ground, has revealed that he always had a special feeling for his former club, and always intended to repay the club that
made him a professional footballer.
“I feel like I owe the club a little bit because if it wasn’t for West Ham I wouldn’t be a footballer. This club’s great youth-team coaches taught me the trade. Coming back here brings back all the memories of the pitches I learnt how to play on. I’ve always
loved West Ham and I hope I can give the club a few memorable seasons”, the 31-year-old was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 star went on to express his ambition that he wants to make an impact, and help his side finish at a respectable position come the end of the ongoing 2012/13 season.
The Hammers are currently sitting 11th on the Premier League table, eight points clear of the danger zone.
“I wanted to be here and I want to make an impact. All in all, it will always be West Ham and the history will always be here. Everywhere I go, people know me for having started here”, Cole concluded.
The versatile English attacker has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the Boleyn Ground until the summer of 2014.
