Liverpool forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694, is planning on making a strong return to the team, after completing his recuperation process.
The English International picked up a hamstring injury on the opening day of the season against West Bromwich Albion, ruling him out for almost two months.
However, the 30-year old is reported to have gained full fitness now.
He featured in a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 Under-21 game on Monday, and also grabbed a goal.
The Reds will square off against the Italian outfit Udinese on Thursday in a Europa League group match.
It is expected though that Cole will miss out on a place in the squad for Thursday, but could appear on the bench in the following game against Stoke City at home.
After finally getting involved in action in almost two months, the forward was elated to get some playing time on the field.
He revealed that he was not too concerned whether he would feature in the Udinese game or not, as for now, only making a return to the team mattered to him.
“I think the most important thing was just getting the minutes under my belt,” he told the club’s official website.
“I was happy and it's a case of onwards and upwards now and hopefully I can be available for the first team. Whether it's here or at Anfield, a game of football is a game of football and I really enjoyed it.”
In the absence of Cole, manager Brendan Rodgers opted to blood in a couple of young players in the team.
Raheem Sterling and Suso have been handed a couple of caps, and the duo has so far vindicated their boss’ decision.
Seeing the young players step up to the challenge, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player expressed his delight over the competition that it had created in the unit.
He said that even though it has put his position in jeopardy, it was an indication that the club were headed in the right direction.
“Of course it's a good thing that there are so many people fighting for places, that's what all successful clubs have. The game has developed and it is now a squad game,” he added.
