Liverpool forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694, is confident that the Reds will be able to fight-off their poor start to the season and called upon the fans to stand behind manager, Brendan Rodgers.
His comments came in the wake of the Merseyside club’s 0-0 draw against Stoke City at Anfield, which further stretched the fans’ wait of seeing their side record their first league win at home this campaign.
Liverpool have so far played 4 league games at Anfield in the ongoing season.
Earlier, they played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester City, before succumbing to back to back defeats against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Manchester United.
The club have only managed to win two matches at home since the turn of the year.
Nonetheless, despite the gloomy current state of affairs at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, Cole is optimistic that the good days are just around the corner.
He said that the brand of football that his team displayed against the Potters on Sunday speaks at length about the improvement that they have shown under Rodgers’ management.
However, he urged the fans to adopt a patient approach towards the Northern Irishman, and insisted that the revolution that he is trying to bring at Anfield will require time before it starts bearing fruits.
“During the time I was out I saw the team developing and I feel like I've seen a lot of improvement,” he told the reporters.
“Revolutions don't happen in days and weeks, and I think the fans here understand there. They are very educated - they know what we're trying to do and how we're trying to implement a style of play. They know it's just a case of needing to be patient.”
The 30-year old sustained a hamstring injury on the opening day of the term, which ruled him out of action for almost one and a half month.
However, he has now completed his convalescence process, and featured as a second half substitute against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis’ men at the weekend.
Cole revealed that he was training harder than ever now in order to reclaim his slot in the team.
He also said that the fortnight long international break will further help his cause, as he looks to get stronger and fitter.
“I feel good and I've now got two weeks of training to focus on while a lot of the boys go away on international duty,” he added.
