Chelsea’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 has revealed that he is looking to secure more playing time with the Blues and is hoping to prove his worth, starting in the pre season tour.
The defender finally made his return to the team, following his participation in the Euro 2012 and it seems like he can’t wait to get on the pitch again.
"I feel good to be back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, I don't think I am 100 per cent sharp yet, I am probably behind some of the lads by about 10 days so there is catching up to do," Cole told the club's official website.
He then admitted that he was feeling the effects of age take their toll on him, but felt that he could easily cope with any problems that might occur on the pitch.
"I feel sharp in the little closing down runs but the longer runs feel a lot harder, especially when you're trying to repeat them for a longer period, which is what I do in my game, but that will come.”
Cole then ended by admitting that the only thing that could change things and get him back up to a hundred percent, was match practice.
"It's something that only match practice can really fix, you can train as hard as you like, pre-season is a bit like coming back from an injury, but you need the minutes in a game to get your full fitness.”
Over the last couple of weeks, there has been a lot of talk about Cole and his future at the Stamford Bridge.
He has been linked with moves away from the club and many believe that he could seize this opportunity to move elsewhere .
It was also believed that Cole was looking to renew his contract with the Blues and demand a salary around the region of two hundred thousand pounds a week.
At the moment, the defender’s future has not been confirmed and it is a wait to see just what the future holds for Cole.
For now, all he can do is try and secure as much first team football with the team as possible.
