Coleman Barrett: I have the Irish title, if Tyson Fury wants it he has to fight me – Boxing news
The Irish Stallion, Coleman Barrett, who currently holds the Irish heavyweight title, has reminded the current British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury of his dream of getting an Irish title.
Tyson Fury, who recently secured a unanimous points’ decision over the Del Boy, Dereck Chisora in their Big Brawl to claim the British Heavyweight title at the Wembley Arena in London, was eager to get a match against Martin Rogan. Fury claimed he wants
to have an Irish title before he goes up against any of the big names in the sport.
However, Rogan did not offer the 6 ft 9” undefeated giant, Fury, a fight. Therefore, the Irishman, Coleman Barrett, who has won 13 of his 14 professional fights, with 2 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has called out Fury for to fight him, as
he currently has the Irish title.
The 28-year-old, Barrett, told the media he has the Irish title for which Fury is eager and if he really wants to get it, he will have to fight him.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I have the Irish title. If Tyson Fury wants it he has to fight me. I am the Irish champion and there is no other way of getting the Irish title other than fighting me.”
In the end, Barrett declared he is willing to fight Fury anywhere, as Barrett reckons Fury will be a piece of cake for him. Barrett admitted Fury brings a big payday with him but on the same note, he claimed he brings an even bigger payday.
“I will fight him wherever he wants. He is the last fighter I would be worried about in this division,” he said. “He brings a lot to the table but not as much as me.”
Tyson Fury’s trainer has recently revealed that he has made an offer to Mike Perez and David Price to fight Fury on September 17, 2011 at the King’s Hall in Belfast.
However let’s see if Fury changes his mind and sets up a clash with Barrett for the Irish title.
